Road TestCar reviews - Jaguar - S-Type - R sedanJaguar modelsThe Car22 Aug 2002 By BRUCE NEWTON IT'S amazing what a set of alloy wheels and a mesh grille can do for a car. In the case of the S-Type it gives a somewhat rounded and unresolved shape more grounding and force - brutalises it somewhat. That's appropriate considering the performance the car is capable of. Apart from the 18-inch Zeus alloys and the grille's brightwork, Jaguar has also de-chromed the body, added a small lipped rear spoiler, Xenon headlights behind tinted lenses and subtle red "R" badging. Behind the alloys you can see the big red calipers of the Brembo brakes as well, but some styling impact was lost by using solid rather than cross-drilled discs. Did you know? The S-Type was designed by the late Geoff Lawson, who was also responsible for the beautiful XK lineAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
