Super TestCar reviews - Honda - Prelude - VTi-R coupeHonda modelsElectronic System13 Feb 2001 By BRUCE NEWTON THE Prelude's dynamic systems include the optional Active Torque Transfer System (ATTS) designed to improve handling control and response with reduced understeer or oversteer. ATTS steers the Prelude by increasing power and drive torque to the outside wheel when cornering. By rotating the outer wheel faster than normal, the ATTS assists the yaw moment in a manner similar to a tracked vehicle. The system can raise the outer wheel speed by as much as 15 per cent, depending on conditions, distributing up to 80 per cent of the drive torque to the outer wheel and 20 per cent to the inner.
