Road TestCar reviews - Honda - CR-Z - Sport coupeHonda modelsOverviewThe perky Honda CR-Z is engaging and frugal, but could use a bigger dose of power24 Feb 2012 HONDA’S latest hybrid is reminiscent of the 1980s CR-X hot-hatch but utilises the company’s latest hybrid technology, much of it shared with the Insight. The CR-Z is available in Sport and Luxury variants. Uniquely for a hybrid, the Sport offers the choice of six-speed manual or CVT automatic transmissions but the up-spec model is auto-only. Our test car was a manual and we think the CR-Z offers a better value proposition in this form. But the entry point of $34,990 seems high when you can buy a classy Accord Euro sedan from the same manufacturer for $30,390.
