Super TestCar reviews - Holden - Barina - 3-dr hatchHolden modelsOverviewHolden hit the mark centre-on with its Opel designed and built XC Barina range9 May 2001 IT might appear to be Barina of old, but look beyond the timid styling and an exceptional small car emerges. In terms of engine performance, ride and handling, and refinement, this is a car worth considering over most of its budget rivals. Forget the lack of electric windows some notable lapses in passive safety equipment are really the only concerns in an otherwise outstanding package which features anti-whiplash front headrests, a useful multi-function display and an excellent stereo with steering wheel-mounted controls. Multi-point fuel-injection wrought 60kW for Barina in August 1997, and it ran unchanged until its discontinuation in February 2001. |
