However, the current model, when it arrived in the US in the mid-1990s, managed to arrest the slide. Today it still might not be outstanding but it has adequate charm and looks more like a proper Mustang than anything else produced after the mid-1970s. The main visual problem is the large gap around the wheel arches and the tendency to look short on wheelbase and long on overhang - particularly at the front.
