It is pushing the federal government hard to offer incentives to anyone that buys an electric vehicle or a plug-in hybrid as a way to encourage take-up and further reduce CO2 emissions, but so far, the feds are not biting. BMW is pressing on regardless, rolling out more of its iPerformance plug-in hybrid models, and this time it is the 5 Series that has been electrified.
