The Mazda RX-8 undergoes a mid-cycle update with a new top-of-the-line model called GT and a new six-speed automatic available on the Luxury heading the long list of minor revisions and upgrades to Mazda’s five-year-old premium sports coupe.
The RX-8’s chief competitor in the sports car category is the Nissan 350Z.
The RX-8’s rotary engine has different outputs according to the transmission. The standard manual version develops 170kW at 8200rpm and 211Nm at 5500rpm, both of which are unchanged from the previous model.
The optional automatic model develops 158kW at 7500rpm and 211Nm at 5500rpm.
Three models are available: the RX-8, RX-8 Luxury and RX-8 GT.
