FORD updated its mid-size SUV offering in February 2017, headlined by a name change from Kuga to Escape – which aligned the local product with global naming standards.

The mid-life refresh also extended to upgraded safety technologies and revised exterior styling – including a new front-end fascia – while drivetrain options carried over.

An 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system powered by the Blue Oval's Sync3 software – which included digital radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, as well as satellite navigation – was standard fair across the range.

Pricing for the three-tier line-up – consisting of Ambiente, Trend and Titanium specification levels – was unchanged, despite the inclusion of more standard equipment across the board for all variants.
