The comprehensively re-engineered B4 80 series featured a longer wheelbase, new rear suspension, more cabin space, much larger boot, improved dynamics, a redesigned cabin and many different body panels – but it still takes a keen eye to spot the changes! The 90 name disappeared, so the revised range now read: 85kW 4-cylinder 80 2.0E, 100kW 5-cylinder 80 2.3E, and a 128kW V6 80 2.8E. The 2.3E was replaced by new 110kW V6 2.6E and 2.6E quattro versions from October '93, while the 2.8E lived on until March '94.
Audi continued to make sales inroads locally, boosted by the arrival of the all-new A4 range from August '95.
